Burke-Cornell Medical Research Institute
The Laboratory of Molecular Regeneration and Neuroimaging at the Burke-Cornell Medical Research Institute (http://burke.weill.cornell.edu/zhong-lab) seeks two capable and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellows to join our team focused on understanding the signaling mechanisms of axon growth and regeneration, and on developing and testing new strategies to promote axon regeneration and functional recovery in mouse models of spinal cord injury and glaucoma. Further projects address the circuitry of pain, and the pathological mechanisms underlying the neurological phenotypes of neuro-cardio-facio-cutaneous syndromes.
The successful candidate will have experience in molecular cloning and generation of expression or knock-down constructs. He or she will also be strongly self-motivated, well organized, and have excellent communication skills. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related fields at the time of employment.
The Fellows will join a laboratory equipped with state-of-the-art technology for molecular biology and rodent phenotype analysis, including a two-photon confocal microscope and excellent core facilities available through the Tri-Institutional Resources program at Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering and Rockefeller University in Manhattan.
Interested and qualified applicants should email their biosketch, a 1 - 2 page cover letter outlining their research interests, and contact information for at least two references, to Prof. Jian Zhong, Ph.D., at firstname.lastname@example.org. Selected candidates will be invited for on-site interviews in November/December 2017.
