Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Number: 7051221
Posting Date: Apr 27, 2018
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
Postdoctoral Position in Epithelial Cell Biology
Postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Sergey Troyanovsky to study the cell-cell contacts between epithelial cells. Enthusiastic candidates with recent PhD and expertise in molecular and cell biology are encouraged to apply.
Our laboratory has elucidated the specific mechanisms driving the formation of cell-cell junctions (PNAS, 2018, doi: 10.1073/pnas, J Cell Biol, 2015, doi: 10.1083/jcb; J Cell Sci, 2015, doi: 10.1242/jcs). Our next goal is to understand how the cytoskeleton and polarity proteins coordinate these mechanisms and eventually build the highly organize intercellular contacts. These studies have direct implication in understanding of abnormal morphogenesis in different pathologies including cancer. The laboratory has integrated a broad range of techniques such as genomics, molecular biology, and live cell imaging.
